Joe Cartisano B.Ed Music
I started playing the clarinet in the City Band of Reggio Calabria, Italy at the age of 9 and by the time I was 12 I was playing with the Band 1st Clarinets.
At the age of 11 I attended the Conservatorium "Francesco Cilea" of Music High School in the same city for 4 years, after high school I continued at the same Conservatorium for a further 2 years majoring in Clarinet, this is where I developed strong technical and musical foundations.
I then moved to Australia and completed my Bachelor of Education Majoring in Music.
In the 90's I studied Clarinet and Saxophone with Mark Walton from Sydney Conservatory of Music.
I also played with the Penrith Symphony Orchestra and the University of Western Sydney students Symphony Orchestra where I performed the Weber Clarinet Concerto No 1.
I have worked for the past 25 years as a freelance clarinet and saxophone player and instrumental teacher.
